Pushpa grew up in Rajakheda, a small village in Lucknow, where she turned to her aunt to learn Chikankari after losing her mother at a young age. The craft soon became her strength, and even after marriage she and her husband work together to support their three daughters’ education. Her clean, well-spaced motifs on lightweight fabrics carry both her patience and her hope for a future brighter than the one she inherited.
